Wonago Word Weavers writing group meets at 6:30pm on the last Wednesday of every month (except November & December) at the Mukwonago Library. It's a productive writing group and only takes me about 40 minutes to get there.
Every month Jan, a published author and group coordinator puts together and emails us a list of contests and markets. She is challenging us to submit and get something published.
Bob, Jan and both Toms shared their work for critique.
This month I learned
- About writing thoughts in third person. Can use questions and sentence fragments
- Hooks. Use questions and power words which are strong words like special, love, blood, red, pain.... I tried a quick search online for a list but didn't find anything right away.
- When writing a book, set goals with deadlines. List what each chapter should include.
